<p>1. Every thought affects the body as well.  </p>
<p>In other words, although the mind and the body are understood to be separate in practice it doesn&#8217;t work that way. Mental stress can create knots in your back or even give you ulcers. Therefore, Be aware of your thinking. If you are negative all the time to yourself or about your surroundings it is the same as negative self hypnosis. </p>
<p>2. What you expect tends to be realized. </p>
<p>	If you wake up telling yourself you will have a bad day you probably will. In other words your expectations drive your results. Negative expectations is the same as negative self hypnosis.  </p>
<p>3. Imagination is stronger than knowledge.  </p>
<p>	You ‘know&#8217; that ghosts and monsters do not exist. Yet hearing ghost stories at night will create fear. Especially if sitting around a campfire in a forest. There is no contest. Imagination will always win. Another point for the importance of positive thoughts and visualizations in your practice of self hypnosis. </p>
<p>4. What you resist the most stays with you. </p>
<p>	Have you ever had to stop doing something and found that its more difficult than you realized? Maybe you have had occasion to go on a diet and suddenly foods that you couldn&#8217;t have cared less about start looking very appetizing? Maybe there was/is someone who irritates you and you know there is no reason to. So you try to keep the irritation away but it gets to you even more? </p>
<p>	I could go on and on with examples. Basically, when you resist something it tends to stick. This happens because when you resist you have to think of the very thing you are trying to resist, so it&#8217;s continuously on your mind.  </p>
<p>It&#8217;s as if someone told you that they would give you a $1000 if you don&#8217;t think of a pink elephant all day.  I&#8217;m sure you don&#8217;t spend your time thinking of something as random as a pink elephant. However, trying to resist that image of a pink elephant with a $1000 on the line would be impossible.  </p>
<p>In other words, what you resist tends to stay with you. Which means that in focusing on an affirmation for self hypnosis you have to phrase the affirmation in the positive. I.e. affirm what you want to achieve and NOT on what you don&#8217;t want. </p>
<p>Follow these four laws of the mind and your day to day thoughts will be more guided in a positive direction. Of course, your thoughts create your internal emotional states which is the same as self hypnosis. So you have to be aware of your thoughts to create the state of being that you desire. </p>

They are so easy and simple to use that virtually anyone can now use the fantastic powers of self hypnosis.<br />
Before getting started, let us examine some things that will enhance our chances of success. For starters, do not force the results of self hypnosis. Trying to make things happen will only hurt your chance of success. Just think of self hypnosis as a tool for removing obstacles you have built against the result you want. And when the obstacles are gone, the desired result will flow to you naturally. In reality, this is what is actually happening anyway.<br />
Do not overanalyze any event that happens in your life. Although you will probably do this in the beginning, that is only human, but after the novelty wears off you will learn to let things happen naturally.<br />
Just remember that you may or may not know that you have reached a hypnotic state. No two people experience self hypnosis in exactly the same way. Keep in mind that the hypnotic state is always a pleasant experience.<br />
Finally, be aware that self hypnosis is a skill and that you will get better with each session and that will give you results in the long run. The way effective approach is to set up a regular schedule and allot about thirty minutes.<br />
The first step in self hypnosis is to slow down your thoughts and get relaxed. While it is virtually impossible to force your mind to relax, you can always work on getting relaxed physically and then let the mind will follow. Relaxation is something that certain people are naturally better at than others, but the skill can be learned over time.<br />
A common technique is to concentrate on relaxing each body part and work the entire body from top to bottom or vice versa. It is important thing that you take your time and not rush this step. Relaxation can take anywhere from a half hour to just a few seconds.<br />
After feeling relaxed, the next step is to deepen the state of relaxation. One of the more popular techniques of deepening is to use the count down technique. You simply count down from 20 or 100, and allow yourself to going deeper and deeper into the relaxed state. Do not count out loud when doing this procedure as you want as little physical involvement as possible. This is the actual step where hypnotic states occur. You most likely will not be aware of this as a beginner, but it will eventually happen.<br />
After reaching a deep state of relaxation, the next step is to use suggestions. Bear in mind that the relaxation and deepening steps have prepared your mind to be more receptive to suggestions. Thus, your subconscious mind can now start to become influenced by your suggestions. It is more effective to apply suggestions that have been worked out ahead of time. They should be short and brief and you should have them memorized so that you can think them to yourself.<br />
The last step is to end your session. A person could always just open their eyes and get up, but this is not a good idea at all. You should always identify the end of each session to provide a formal division between the hypnotic state and ordinary consciousness. This accomplishes two things. It tells your subconscious that the session is finished, and it prevents your self hypnosis practice session from turning into a nap.<br />
Will it take weeks or even months to get into a good hypnotic state? Probably not. Some people have an amazing experience on their very first try. Others might practice for several days before they notice something good happened. Just keep practicing and you will eventually get there. </p>

The steps followed for this technique is common and you can adjust it to suit your practice and desires. These are similar to the method adopted by the therapists.<br />
While getting ready for the self hypnosis technique makes sure that you select the sentence to be told very carefully. This is because these sentences will have a greater impact on your mind. So take a lot of time to think and then select each of them.<br />
To prepare yourself for self hypnosis technique, you need to first let yourself understand about the reason for adopting this method. This will lead you to perfection from the start to the end as you should remain within the same goal. Always select one goal at a time and never get along with multiple goals so as to get solution in one session. You will never be able to accomplish any of them if you are to select more than one and you will end up in creating more trouble for you.<br />
The statements that you are going to use should be something positive and convey pretty good messages. Select a calm place for practicing self hypnosis technique with closed doors, phones disconnected and in comfortable position so that no one is there to disturb you. Then sit back straight on a chair and focus your sight to the point which lies a little above the level of your eyes. Repeat the word &#8216;Relax&#8217; few times as you breathe in and out. When you are breathing, just push off all the bad breath causing you trouble and breath in to inhale fresh air.<br />
Then, keep your eyes shut and trying listening to some minute sounds like water fall, rain on the roof and lot more. Also note the rise of temperature, the weight of the body which lands up on the chair you are on and things like that. Now it is the time for you to enter into your subconscious mind by thinking that you are walking down the stairs to reach a beautiful garden at the end. Imagine as if you are passing each layer of cloud when you descend each step and thus making your more and more relaxed and thus all the worries and negative thoughts leaving you.<br />
Now you are to step on the green lawn which is bright with the rays of the sun. After proper relaxation start off by repeating the words or sentences framed by you three times with a little gap after each repetition. After this process imagine as if you are climbing the steps to the top. After reaching the top of the stairs, the self hypnosis technique is finished and you are in the normal state of mind. Secure yourself in a comfortable couch or chair. Some people choose to lie down but that increases the possibility of falling asleep, as opposed to just sitting down. Whether it be lying or sitting down, just make sure that your legs are not crossed or any part of your body is slouching. This will only make that part of your body feel uncomfortable. 2.Â Â  Â Make sure that no one will disturb you in the next 30 minutes. Close your eyes and get rid of any thoughts or feelings that give you anxiety, stress or fear. When you start, it might be very hard not to think. These thoughts keep invading your concentration. When this start happening, do not let these thoughts out. Think about them without biases and then they will slowly go away.3.Â Â  Â If there is tension in your body, recognize it. Discover where these could be. Imagine that they are slowly vanishing. Imagine that your body is slowly becoming lighter. Chances are if you&#8217;re doing this properly, you will feel relaxed. You can also do this by taking deep and slow breaths. After each exhales, you would notice that the negativity and the tension disappear. 4.Â Â  Â At this point, you will be in a very relaxed state. Imagine that you are at the top of flight of stairs and when you reach the last step, you will submerge into water. Imagine each detail in the room. Count down the steps. Feel the coldness of the water. Once you are submerged, feel the prick of the liquid in your skin. At this point, you are already numb. Your heart will race a bit. Let your thoughts and emotions drift in the water.Â  This is a normal state in self-hypnosis.5.Â Â  Â Don&#8217;t be afraid because it is all right to not feel anything. Just make yourself float and spin. Once you have reached this state, then you are doing the process of self-hypnosis properly.Â  Proceed and address your problems. You can decide what you want to do. Start talking to yourself. Picture that there are three boxes that you have to swim in order to reach. Once you found the boxes, open these and talk to yourself. Tell yourself what you want to be and what you don&#8217;t want to be. 6.Â Â  Â Narrate these sentences to yourself. Twice or thrice is enough. Once you are done, imagine yourself swimming up again to the stairs. Once you are out of the water, you will feel heavy. This is normal. Just continue repeating to yourself what you said earlier. You must have noticed how your face turns red when you are really angry or how people comment on your dull looking skin when you are upset or compliment you for your glowing skin when you are happy! While these effects may be temporary, deep rooted feelings, either negative or positive, can have long term effects on our skin. However, this does not mean that all skin problems are a result of negative emotions; some might have medical causes as well. But if your skin is not responding to medications, then there is a possibility that either your negativity is hampering your recovery or your problem is the result of your deep rooted negative emotions. Self-rejection, self-loathing, stress, anxiety, negative self-talk and low self-esteem are feelings which typically cause skin problems. How to overcome your skin problems? Just like a long held habit becomes a part of our unconscious behavior, similarly long held thinking patterns also become a part of our behavior. We don’t even realize when we slip into a negative thinking or self-loathing mode. Our habit of worrying ourselves to death about the smallest problems or getting stressed over trivial issues comes naturally to us. Our subconscious directs our “natural” instincts. Therefore to alter what has become our “natural” behavior”, we need to influence our subconscious. Self- hypnosis is one way through which we can communicate with our subconscious. The following self-hypnosis exercises can help in altering long held-behavior and thinking patterns: Exercise 1-Simple self hypnosis exercise to release stress: </p>
<p>· Step 1-Lie down on your bed/a mat or the floor </p>
<p>· Step 2-Deep breathe </p>
<p>· Step 3-Focus on your breath and imagine that you breathing in light and energy with every in- breath and breathing out all your stress and anxiety with every out-breath </p>
<p>· Step 4-Now imagine a beam of white light entering your body through the top of your head </p>
<p>· Step 5-Let the white light travel to every part of your body, dissolving all your stress and anxiety </p>
<p>· Step 6-Now imagine that the light is leaving your body from the soles of your feet </p>
<p>· Step 7-You will find yourself feeling lighter </p>
<p>· Step 8-Relax </p>
<p>· Step 9- Slowly open your eyes </p>

As long as the concentration is focused and he or she is willing to follow the instructions listed below. 1.Â Â  Â It all begins with going to a comfortable and private place. Secure yourself in a comfortable couch or chair. Some people choose to lie down but that increases the possibility of falling asleep, as opposed to just sitting down. Whether it be lying or sitting down, just make sure that your legs are not crossed or any part of your body is slouching. This will only make that part of your body feel uncomfortable. 2.Â Â  Â Make sure that no one will disturb you in the next 30 minutes. Close your eyes and get rid of any thoughts or feelings that give you anxiety, stress or fear. When you start, it might be very hard not to think. These thoughts keep invading your concentration. When this start happening, do not let these thoughts out. Think about them without biases and then they will slowly go away.3.Â Â  Â If there is tension in your body, recognize it. Discover where these could be. Imagine that they are slowly vanishing. Imagine that your body is slowly becoming lighter. Chances are if you&#8217;re doing this properly, you will feel relaxed. You can also do this by taking deep and slow breaths. After each exhales, you would notice that the negativity and the tension disappear. 4.Â Â  Â At this point, you will be in a very relaxed state. Imagine that you are at the top of flight of stairs and when you reach the last step, you will submerge into water. Imagine each detail in the room. Count down the steps. Feel the coldness of the water. Once you are submerged, feel the prick of the liquid in your skin. At this point, you are already numb. Your heart will race a bit. Let your thoughts and emotions drift in the water.Â  This is a normal state in self-hypnosis.5.Â Â  Â Don&#8217;t be afraid because it is all right to not feel anything. Just make yourself float and spin. Once you have reached this state, then you are doing the process of self-hypnosis properly.Â  Proceed and address your problems. You can decide what you want to do. Start talking to yourself. Picture that there are three boxes that you have to swim in order to reach. Once you found the boxes, open these and talk to yourself. Tell yourself what you want to be and what you don&#8217;t want to be. 6.Â Â  Â Narrate these sentences to yourself. Twice or thrice is enough. Once you are done, imagine yourself swimming up again to the stairs. Once you are out of the water, you will feel heavy. This is normal. Just continue repeating to yourself what you said earlier. Do this until you feel lighter. 7.Â Â  Â Take your time. Do not open your eyes immediately. Visualize yourself going back to that room where you did your self-hypnosis. Imagine the light slowly engulfing the room so that when you open your eyes, it wouldn&#8217;t be that bright. It also helps telling yourself that you feel better. When you do open your eyes, you will be smiling at the thought that self-hypnosis did you good and you are able to confront your fear, anxiety, and stress with a whole new attitude. By thinking these thoughts and feeling lighter, your mind will be in a better state. You will be refreshed and feel relaxed. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This article is about some of the down sides to the winter months and how using a few mental tools you can not only survive but thrive through the dark, cold winter months.<br />
Research shows that there is a general increase in stress levels amongst the western population on the run up to the end of the year and through the first couple of months into the next. This time of year is also associated with increases in financial instability, increases in domestic disputes and mental health problems.<br />
There are many factors involved in this including the burden on time and money for the festive season, dark, cold winter months and being the time of year that people re-evaluate there lives.<br />
There are several ways a few simple &#8216;mind tools&#8217; can help to ease this burden.<br />
The issue of stress is a complex one and I don&#8217;t intend this to be a complete answer all for the issues. I do know that by taking a few minutes a day to clear out the tension and relax can have a significant impact on stress levels. A simple self hypnosis trance induction that takes twenty minutes or less every day will significantly help. Just Google Self Hypnosis scripts and you will find hundreds of good ones along with instructions on how to use them.<br />
The net result of spending this time will mean more focus, more energy and drive to get everything you need done. Of course the clever thing here is to use the induction to train the unconscious element of your mind to be more effective. But more of that below.<br />
We are significantly impacted by sunlight and shorter daylight hours along with spending more time indoors. Again issues such as SAD and medical conditions are beyond the scope of this article, but by using creative visualization techniques you can have an impact on how you feel. A simple idea like visualizing yourself relaxing on a warm beach somewhere can take a lot of tension out of the day and bring you back to something like normality&#8230;but obviously there are some things we can do to increase the benefits still further.<br />
One issue that seems to come up regularly at the end of a year is that people re-evaluate what they have achieved and their goals for the coming year. The impact of this for many people is dissatisfaction over the last year and a feeling of nothing changing for the year ahead. Here self hypnosis and NLP techniques can really help.<br />
Your unconscious mind is the store house for all of your memories, emotions and habitual behavior. It is also where you keep your beliefs, values and identity. Using self hypnosis and NLP techniques you can draw a lot of these things into your conscious awareness and change them. The implications of this can be huge for example:<br />
