Conquering Insomnia Using Hypnosis
There are two main types of insomnia: primary and secondary. Primary insomnia is caused by something understandable such as your lifestyle, bad habits or uncomfortable bed. Secondary insomnia, on the other hand, has a medical cause and problems such as depression, grief or alcohol abuse are at the root of the insomnia. It may be that you suffer from transient insomnia which lasts for no more than 2-3 days; short-term insomnia which lasts between 2 days and 3 weeks; or chronic insomnia which lasts for more than 3 weeks. Whatever type or length of insomnia you are experiencing, it can affect your enjoyment of life.
Humans sleep for a reason and our bodies need this valuable time to rest, recharge and rebuild our strength. Sleep ensures we stay focused which is why insomnia leads to tiredness, poor concentration, feeling run down and, with persistent insomnia, to mental health issues.
Most of us have had difficulty sleeping at one time or another and it is estimated that 1 in 3 people in the UK experience insomnia occasionally. It is unsurprising that so many of us have suffered from insomnia at times as it is often caused by the individual. Stress, worry, anxiety, overeating, not exercising enough, lack of confidence, work or even a small change to your routine can cause insomnia.
This is why hypnosis is a powerful and effective means of helping you conquer insomnia. Hypnosis will help you understand the cause of your insomnia by teaching you relaxation techniques and the ability to focus on just why you haven’t been able to fall or stay asleep recently. You will regain control of your sleeping patterns with hypnosis by learning, for example, how to use positive thoughts to tackle insomnia, relax your mind and your body, boost your confidence, feel organised – a healthy mind is a healthy body and a healthy body is one that has conquered insomnia.
